A four-run seventh inning rally was the difference for the Southern Oregon RiverDawgs in a 4-3 West Coast Tri-State League victory against the Nevada Bighorns on Wednesday night in Medford, Ore.

The Bighorns answered with three runs in the top of the eighth but the RiverDawgs were able to hold on to win the final game of their regular season at Harry & David Field. The RiverDawgs (8-16 league, 17-19 overall) clinched a berth in the league playoffs by sweeping the three-game series.

The Bighorns (3-18 league, 11-29 overall) end their season with a three-game series this weekend against the Humboldt Crabs in Arcata, Calif.

"We played really well," Bighorns manager Dennis Young said. "We were right there. It was a scoreless game going to the seventh."

The Bighorns enjoyed a 9-4 advantage in the hit column. Tim Lewis had two hits, including a two-run double in the eighth, while Phil Sacks drove in Nevada's other run with a single in the eighth. Ryan Trosko also doubled for the Bighorns.

Blake Nahlen and Jonathan Sigado each pitched three shutout innings to keep Nevada in the game, while Tony Guerra and Chris Houle finished the combined five-hitter. Aaron Jorgensen also pitched well in a 2-0 loss in game two of Tuesday's doubleheader, Young said.
