Openings remain to play in the 27th annual Tahoe Classic Tennis Tournament, which will be held the weekend of Aug. 6-8 at Zephyr Cove.

The event, co-hosted at the Zephyr Cove Tennis Club by Hersh and Sheryl Herschman, will offer doubles competition in men's, women's and mixed divisions, as well as century and super century categories. Among the local area entries to date are Karen Neri, who captains the 3.5 USTA senior Zephyr Cove team that has qualified for the national championships this October at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens in Palm Springs, Gunther Barsch, John Edmundson, Ceci Chourre, Neil Trebotich, Scott Cummins, Wally Murray, Penne Burgess, Sue Roberson, Mike Rahman, James and Kerri Ten Broek.
